Making ourselves presentable or even good-looking is always our top priority. How you dress and how you take care of yourself as well as the things involved around you speaks so much of who you are and what type of personality you have.

Not only should we make our own appearances good but also dressing up our home with lovely things should not be taken for granted. Dressing up your house is like dressing up yourself. Just like knowing how to choose what to wear in certain occasions, you should also apply the same principle in making your home beautifully arranged. One way to dress up your house is using curtains.

Curtains which are also known as “drape or draperies” is a piece of cloth used to block the light coming from outside the house or water in cases of a shower curtain and it gives you privacy from people outside passing by your window. You can also use it to beautify your house. It can be hung in any part of the house not only on the windows but even on boring and plain walls.

Choosing curtains should not be underestimated. One downside for people using curtains is that they do not consider looking at the quality of the cloth as well as the style of the curtain they choose. If you are the type of person who would love to make your house look really colorful and creative, pick a theme full of color and style instead of plain or printed curtains. Also, only pick soft colored curtains if your walls are painted with strong color.

You may also compliment your curtains with matching colors or style of prints from other things in the same room like pillows and bed sheet covers. In the living room you can use a throw pillow as well as sofa covers to get ideas for colors and as a guide for style.

Remember to always choose a style that you are comfortable looking at and not the one that will stress you out each time you see it.
